MAIN CONSIDERATIONS OF ARCHITECTURAL DESIGN

Following are the four main consideration which an architect should bear in mind for making his design useful,sound and pleasing;
Bye-laws of the locality
Climate and its effect
Materials and methods of construction
People and their requirements

BYE-LAWS OF THE LOCALITY

The proposed structure is to be designed by keeping in mind the prevailing rules and regulations of the sanctioning authority.These rules are known as bye-laws and the architect should have a through knowledge of the same for easily getting his plan approved by the concerned authority.

CLIMATE AND ITS EFFECT

The combined effect of the sun,the rain and the wind is referred to a climate of the locality. With respect to the sun.

MATERIAL AND METHODS OF CONSTRUCTION

A architect should be conversant with the locally available materials of construction and at the same time,he should also study the skill of local labour with respect to the prevailing methods of construction in the locality. The main purpose of considering these fact is achieve soundness and economy in the construction.
 Depending upon the number of floors and loads to be carried,the structure can be designed as a load bearing structure.The materials of constructions for walls,roof,floors,pavings,doors widows etc.Should be decided by keeping in mind their availability,suitability,purchase prices,applicability,etc.

PEOPLE AND THEIR REQUIREMENTS

In the analysis,the structures constructed by the architect are used by the public and hence,these structures of buildings will be appreciated by the public only if they are able to satisfy their requirements such as way of living,customs of locality,habits of users,etc.If the reverse happens,there is lot of criticism and comments on the planing adopted by the architect.
